What can make me,
from Jesus walk away
what can happen . . .
to make me go astray?
What kind of jeopardy,
will make me turn my back
what sort of danger . . .
will cause my faith to slack?
What can make me,
to stop in God believing
what can prevent me from
His face to keep seeking?
What kind of persecution,
can cause me to turn down
the hope and the grace
in Jesus I have found?
What can make me,
from God to separate
nothing I know of could . . .
my love for Him penetrate!

Who shall separate us
from the love of Christ?
shall tribulation, or distress,
or persecution, or famine,
or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
As it is written,
For thy sake we are killed
all the day long; we are
accounted as sheep for
the slaughter.
Nay, in all these things we
are more than conquerors
through him that loved us.
