~ Staying On the Righteous Path ~

I’ve traveled many roads,
much to my dismay . . .
I walked along the path
of sin and decay.
I’ve climbed over mountains,
in my own egotistical pride
I walked in valley’s deep
with conceit as my guide.
But, I grew so very weary,
on the pathway’s of leeway
and the latitude I gave myself
on my soul began to weigh.
So, I began a new journey,
one that was Spirit lead
and now all the other routes
fill me with fear and dread.
For in God’s Word,
I discovered the path
guaranteed to keep me
from knowing God’s wrath!
