Guilty sinners,
deserving disgrace
instead are saved
by Jesus’ grace.
Worthy of hell,
its perishing heat
instead their Savior
in heaven will meet.
Guilty sinners,
not meriting favor
instead eternity
they will savor.
Worthy of humiliation,
for their sin
instead the crown of life
they will win.
Guilty sinners,
saved by Jesus’ grace
for He was cursed
in their place!
